We like to try recipes that are of high quality but are also budget friendly. Let’s be honest, nobody has the time, money or interest to go buying expensive ingredients to then have to go to culinary school to try and figure out what in the world a recipe wants you to do. We like to share recipes with our families, so we try to make them simple and cost little to nothing because not everyone has the same food budget or experience to make homemade goods.
Pastries and Novel Thoughts reviews recipes that use everyday accessible ingredients. We review recipes that both experienced and inexperienced in the kitchen can do. We go for mainly baking recipes, like cookies, cakes, breads and muffins. But we will totally get down with cooking.
Do you have to be the author of the recipe to submit it? No! You can totally send us a recipe that you have found, as long as you send us the link for of the recipe or the name of the author. Send us a recipe that you love or that you want know whether it's a proper recipe or not before you make it.
We do not review recipes that have a mile long ingredient list and a lifetime of instructions. We're sorry but no. We also will not review a recipe that has an unappetizing picture.
All of our reviews are based on our honest and personal opinions, but we will always explain why the recipe didn’t work for us and we will post a picture of any end result.
When submitting a recipe review request please always attach either a link to the recipe or a picture. To submit a request click here.
COOKBOOKS: If you want a cookbook reviewed please submit it as a novel.
You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients.
